Lipotherapy is a non-surgical method for spot-fat reduction. It permits the medical staff to target specific areas for Lipolysis. The ingredients injected have been found to actually cause necrosis of the fat cells. The fat dissolves, is metabolized, and is then safely excreted by the kidneys. This treatment can be applied to areas such as saddle bags, eye pads, love handles, inner thighs, outer thighs, chin, and arms. Lipotherapy is an excellent means of body contouring. While there is no downtime, it is normal for the patient to experience minor itching, bruising, and redness for a few days following treatment. Swelling is also to be expected for a few days after Lipotherapy treatment. Depending on the patient, soreness may be present up to 14 days after the treatment. After swelling subsides, there is a noticeable reduction of localized fat in the treated area. The skin of the treated area then naturally retracts, without need for surgery or other treatments.
